CMT brought together a rare combination of Beverly Hills fame and the sweet country lifestyle this weekend in a shindig that celebrated Jennie Garth’s 40th birthday as well as the launch of her new CMT reality series, Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country, which premiered Friday night. Garth and her former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars Shannen Doherty and Ian Ziering reunited for the occasion.
After working the eager press line, Garth, fellow 90210 alums, and her three beautiful daughters (Luca, Lola and Fiona) entered the twilight-lit party atop the roof of West Hollywood’s uber-chic London Hotel, where they were greeted by Garth’s family, friends, production crew and CMT executives.
CMT’s Executive Vice President of Programming & Development, Jayson Dinsmore, welcomed guests and toasted Garth: “May you live to be a hundred, plus one more to repent for the first hundred!”
With the Los Angeles skyline in the distance, the first episode played on monitors around the rooftop, energy-pumping beats were spun by DJ Johnny Knight and the comfort/classy cuisine of Gordon Ramsey was served. A “Skinnygirl Cocktails” specialty bar served its classic concoctions, along with the yet-to-be launched “Skinnygirl Pina Colada,” providing drinks for the many toasts to Garth.
Executive Producer Rick Ringbakk toasted Garth and thanked her for letting fans home into her home and getting to know her in a way that they’ve never seen her before. He then turned the mic over to Garth’s assistant and hilarious co-star on the series, Corinne Dekker, who complimented Garth on being an incredible mother and teaching her grace under pressure.
She also led the crowd in a rousing round of “Happy Birthday” as a 30-inch cake with tall bright sparklers rolled out from Cake Diva.
Garth asked Dekker to help her blow out the candles, offering up thanks to everyone for coming and to CMT for giving her “the best job she’s ever had.” Garth said she enjoys getting to work with her children, in her backyard, wearing pajama – a far cry from Beverly Hills!
The night raucously continued with more food, drinks, music and adoration for Garth and the new series, which premieres Fridays at 9 p.m., ET/PT on CMT.
