  1. So happy that an agreement was reached but now wondering what that is going to mean for our bill? Let me tell you mornings are so much better in my house now that my kids have their Nick Jr cartoons are back!!

  2. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have had Directv for just over a month now. The main reason I chose the package I have is for my daughter. She loves ALL of the Nick channels, and we were so disappointed to see them taken away! Thank you so much!

  3. yay thank u so much for finally agreeing now my daughter can be happy watchin nick again im so pleased

  4. Thanks This is great news. thanks for all the hard work and time

  5. This statement says that all 26 channels will be returned to Directv customers. The Directv site, says that 17 channels will be returned. Why are the numbers different???

  6. Hey Princess Ladybug — we have 26 distinct channels listed in our contract with DIRECTV, which defines regular and high-definition channels separately, and I guess DIRECTV wasn’t counting the high-def channels. So therein lies the disparity!

  7. im so happy you guys came to an agreement. now i can enjoy vh1 love & hip hop . can you say autotune…;-)

  8. Happy Day!

It sucked not having the Viacom channels available at my home. I hope DirecTV learned it’s lesson so we won’t have to go through this again.

  9. Thank you for BOTH companies FINALLY growning up and getting it done!!! now my kids are happy again!!!!

  10. thank you viacom thank you..

  11. Thank God. It feels like it has been forever. It was such a big deal in our house. My kids live off of nick channels and it really made us realize there was not a lot of other choices for them. We are happy to have it back just hummed that we were paying for stuff we didn’t have while we waited and that we missed all the shows we normally record off of those stations.

  13. Thank you! I knew it would get resolved.

  14. I’m glad to see that the Viacom networks are back, I just hope that my bill is not affected. Now that the 17 channels are back I can finally watch my favorite show again, and an HD version of the same channel does not count as a whole another channel its the same channel as the SD version. Thanks to Viacom and DIRECTV for coming up with an agreement and getting back the channels.

  15. Don’t let this happen again…

  17. Thank you guys for finally settling the childish argument! I was so relieved when I was able to watch South Park, Spongebob, and Nick At Nite again!!! 🙂

  18. I’m glad that everyone is getting their channels back. But my time with Directv is coming to an end. Anyone that doesn`t believe Directv lies, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I would like to sell you. LOL. I have been lied to the last time from Directv. Tuesday will be my last day. I worked out a deal with our cable company, and this is without a contract, I will have about 50 more channels, about $50.00 less a month by bundleing. Will be glad to get METV, which Directv doesn`t carry. Can’t wait to get rid of the losers.

  19. Thank you Viacom! I’ve learned from this experience that DirecTV sucks, but I stand with you. Thank you for your time and efforts working with DTV to get my daughter’s favorite channels/shows back on.

  20. Had a problem a while back where DirecTV threatened to cut off our local channels because of some stupid disagreement, telling the viewers local stations would not pay for satellite. Not so sure DirecTV is not the culprit; just their way of upping our monthly service charge. Not much choice with DirecTV; too much reality, too much home shopping; too much garbage tv, period! But without an option of cable, or converting to Dish network, we’re stuck. So much for monopolies. Would be nice if we could choose what stations we want to subscribe to, without having to pay for ones we don’t want. But I thank Viacom for returning our stations. I’ll deal with DirecTV next.

It is so good that they came to an agreement!!

  22. Spongebob again for my 4 year old and Snooki and JWOWW for my 16 year old. A good day at my house.

  23. This is amazing!! I am so happy that both companies reached an agreement. I get to watch all my favorite shows now! This is an amazing feeling.

  24. Finally, Comedy Central, TV Land, and 90’s Nick (TeenNick) are back~! Now I have more options other than TBS! Great day.
It was seriously about time you all worked something out. :3

  25. I have seen no evidence in any of the press releases from DirectTV of any rate increase. This is just an example of how Corporate America occasionally stands in front of America’s entertainment view. Understandable, to be true, but next time please don’t stand in front of the TV!

  26. Thank Goodness!!! I thought the channels were never
coming back… I mean nick is my favorite channel & I
Was afraid of losing it, it took like forever in coming back..
    Thank you!!!!!!

  27. When will online programming be available again?

  28. Thank god now I can watch nick again thanks directv and viacom your the best hell yea baby!!

  29. Thank God!

I was missing the Colbert Report!

  30. It is unfortunate that you all had to settle for less than 20% of the requested increase.

I really hate how all the “news reporters” are acting as if blackouts are a “tactic” rather than a necessity. If you keep providing your channels at the reduced rate until you all can come to an agreement; the OBVIOUS choice for DirecTV is to NEVER come to an agreement. You even extended the already expired contract while negotiations were on-going.

This is the same as arguing “I did not pay my electric bill this month, but I should still receive power until I decide to pay it.” If DirecTV cared about its customers, they would have made the same amount of effort they did in this past week as they had 2 months ago.

  31. Thanks, Felai. You succinctly capture the issues at play here. What makes this even more unfortunate is that Viacom ultimately got a better deal than was on the table before our networks came off DIRECTV. This whole situation was completely avoidable, if only DIRECTV had show some urgency earlier on in the process, as you suggest.
