Stars congregated in the Nokia Theater in LA this past Sunday to celebrate the best in black entertainment at the BET Awards, hosted by comedian Chris Tucker. This year’s show proved to be one of the biggest in its 12-year history, as it transformed from a one-night event into a 3-day festival known as the “BET Experience.”
In the lead-up to the huge show on Sunday, the BET Experience attracted thousands of fans throughout the weekend to participate in a series of concerts, panels and games, featuring celebs like Beyonce, Chris Brown and the Jacksons.
Although the show featured some big winners, including rapper Kendrick Lamar, who took home the trophy for “Best New Artist,” the night also featured some memorable performances from artists like Mariah Carey and Charlie Wilson.
Carey puts her “#Beautiful” five-octave range to work while being accompanied by rapper Young Jeezy and “Best Male R&B/Pop Artist” winner Miguel.
Justin Timberlake presented Wilson with the Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award and later joined him on stage with Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams to perform some of “Uncle Charlie’s” biggest hits, including “Signs” and “Outstanding.”
If you missed the BET Awards this past weekend, BET will be airing the show again on Saturday, July 6 at 8 p.m.
