Chris Gifford, co-creator of the beloved pre-school series Dora the Explorer, travelled to Asia to attend the opening of Dora’s Pirate Adventure at the Resorts World Sentosa Theatre in Singapore, as well as make a quick stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Gifford kicked off his trip by appearing on the hugely popular national TV program, Sheng Siong Variety Show to promote the opening of the live theatrical, along with Dora and Boots of course!  Dora and Boots kicked off the appearance with a performance of the sing-along favorite, “We’re Sailing to Treasure Island,” from Dora’s Pirate Adventure, followed by an interview with Gifford and show hosts Dasmond Koh and Kym Ng.

The next day, Chris jetted to Kuala Lumpur for a day of press and an intimate Q&A session with a group of Malaysia’s top animators and creators at the Malaysia Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) office.  Chris discussed the creation and evolution of everyone’s favorite little adventurer, Dora the Explorer, what makes Dora the Explorer one of the most iconic pre-school characters of our time, and took questions from the group.

After a whirlwind day trip to Malaysia, Gifford made it back to Singapore where he conducted some additional press and promotion and even got to squeeze in some sight-seeing before he attended the premiere of Dora’s Pirate Adventure at Resorts World Sentosa.  Below is a flip book of photos from his trip.
