Viacom Velocity Launches YouTube Channel, Spoofs Parenting in Social Media Age

Viacom Velocity, our creative hub for branded content, launched its YouTube channel this week. Velocity (which bills itself a love child of innovation and collaboration on its website) bids viewers hello with its first YouTube video, “How To Raise A YouTube Star” — a spoof tutorial and parody of parenting in the social media age. “Viacom Velocity is adding another distribution platform to the mix with the launch of the Viacom Velocity YouTube channel,” Niels Schuurmans,  who heads Velocity Creative Content Solutions for Music & Entertainment Groups, told Adweek. “This is a unique destination for fresh commentary on marketing culture, thought leadership work, original co-branded content, as well as…an interactive hub to spotlight emerging and viral social talent.” Schuurmans also says there’s more of this type of creative content and commentary to come.
