Viacommunity, Viacom’s social responsibility umbrella, expanded its signature intern correspondent contest to the movie scene at the MTV Movie Awards last week. Sarita Nauth, chosen from a supremely talented group of interns with an awesome video submission, interviewed celebs on the importance of giving back. In her correspondent debut, Sarita wowed on the red carpet.

Hear more about Sarita’s experience at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards in her own words:

Having interned at Viacom for the past several months, interns are offered many opportunities to get involved and attend events. When I received an email from Viacommunity, the umbrella for all of Viacom’s pro-social efforts, offering a chance to be a red carpet correspondent for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. Within a week I was able to shoot, edit and spark a campaign with the help of my supervisors and friends and submit my video response to Viacommunity. Almost a week after, I got called back for an interview and before I knew it I got the position.

I don’t really think that it all hit me until I took my flight to L.A. the day before the awards. At the time, I had never gone to California, so the experience was a first in many respects. My first day, I spent exploring the heart of the film and music industry: Hollywood. By day two, I was on my way to the Movie Awards at the Nokia Theater at L.A Live, alongside Viacommunity.

When I got there, I got to see the Press Tent where talent would ultimately come when they get off stage to be interviewed and take photos. A crew from MTV gave me the rundown of the show and words of encouragement before we ventured to the “red” carpet (the carpet is actually blue). I started off with a few takes and then jumped right into interviews. The feeling of being on the “blue carpet” was unreal. The energy was high, the fashion was on point, and I was excited to talk to the celebrities of the night. My favorite part about being on the blue carpet was asking questions about how celebs do good and give back. I loved hearing the variety of responses and the enthusiasm everyone had when talking about giving back. I got to talk to cast members from MTV shows such as “Teen Mom,” “Awkward,” “Teen Wolf,” and the new reality series “Todrick,” plus stars from “Insidious: Chapter 3” and “Switched At Birth.” I was super excited to see Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, Amber Rose, Jennifer Lopez, Jessie J, Charli XCX, and the casts of “Pitch Perfect,” “Eye Candy” and more.

The show itself was just as unbelievable. Amy Schumer was an amazing host and kept the crowd laughing all night. There were performances from Charli XCX, Fall Out Boy & Fetty Wap, plus heartwarming speeches from Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, and Vin Diesel.

This opportunity allowed me to know that I am one step closer to my dream and I have Viacommunity to thank for that.
