When Viacom overhauled its popular RateMyProfessors.com website recently, the ratings came back positive – for the website. The Webby Awards, which The New York Times has called the “Internet’s highest honor,” nominated the site for a pair of Webby Awards: Mobile Sites – Guides/Ratings/Reviews and Websites – Guides/Ratings/Reviews.
The site redesign includes a responsive version for mobile devices, improved search and navigation to help more easily find and rate professors, and a more prominently displayed campus ratings page. Since the redesign, the professor ratings and campus ratings have increased in views each month compared to the previous year, eight percent and 100 percent respectively, underscoring Rate My Professors’ status as the world’s largest destination for professor ratings.
The Webby Awards will take place on Tuesday, May 19 and will be live-streamed on the site. Nominees are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) with each category ultimately featuring two honors: Winners of the Webby Awards who are selected by the IADAS, and winners of the Webby People’s Voice, who are selected by the voting public.
Voting closes on Thursday April 23 at midnight, but until then, click the links above to vote.
