Viacom Chief Technology Officer David Kline was recently honored as one of the leading executives among his peers in the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). STEMconnector, a coalition of industry leaders spanning more than 150 entities, unveiled the fourth segment of its leadership series with 100 CIO/CTO Leaders in STEM, and included Kline on their list. The organization defines STEM leaders as those who proactively encourage the implementation of STEM education and development within their companies and industries.
The list is cultivated by members of STEMconnector, and the process considers the standing of the nominee’s company in STEM as well as the nominee’s perspective on issues in the STEM space, such as technology trends and the talent pipeline.
Kline joined Viacom in 2010 and has continuously provided strategic leadership for the company’s technology infrastructure and technology-focused initiatives. During his tenure, he has remained a positive advocate for a variety or pro-social causes, including diversity within the team by actively promoting women into senior executive roles within the company’s Media and Technology Services group, fostering a work environment that is inclusive and reflective of Viacom’s diverse audience. Kline’s mission has been and remains supporting Viacom’s business units with the latest technological solutions in order to make content more compelling and the delivery of that content easier for consumers.
“I’m proud to be part of a company that represents and celebrates the vastly diverse makeup of our audience by encouraging growth and inclusiveness within Viacom’s technology group,” Kline said. “It’s an honor to be recognized in this list along with an impressive pool of talent that is looking to advance STEM innovation.”
Viacom congratulates Kline for his ongoing contributions to advancing STEM education and development right here within our company walls.
