The 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards were held in Los Angeles this Saturday and Viacom was once again a proud sponsor of the event.Ross Mathews,
Ross Mathews, judge on Logo’s RuPaul’s Drag Race, hosted the event. Nick Jonas presented an award to honoree Demi Lovato, and Taylor Swift surprised the crowd to present an award to honoree Ruby Rose. Queen Latifah, Lea Michele, Caitlyn Jenner, Patricia Arquette, Michael Sam, as well as Logo talent Daniel Franzese and Stephen Guarino were among the celebrity guests speaking out for LGBT equality.

Carson Kressley (Logo’s Gay For Play Game Show) will host Logo’s special coverage and backstage interviews with award recipients. John Gidding (Logo’s Secret Guide to Fabulous) and Raymond Braun, creator of Instagram’s first LGBT video channel #VisibleMe, will bring viewers exclusive access inside the event as well as celebrity arrivals on the red carpet.
The GLAAD Media Awards honor media for outstanding images and stories of the LGBT community that accelerate acceptance. Viacom once again had multiple nominees, including MTV’s Faking It (Outstanding Comedy Series) and Logo’s interlocked series Cucumber and Banana (Outstanding Limited Series).
Logo also won big. Logo’s digital series Beautiful As I Want To Be received a Special Recognition Award. The docuseries paired young transgender youth with leaders in the transgender community to talk about their journeys and send the message that authentic beauty lies on the inside.
Transgender model Geena Rocero, who also hosted and served as executive producer of the series, accepted Logo’s GLAAD Media Award backstage with Caitlyn Jenner, who appeared in the first episode of Logo’s series.
Viacom’s table welcomed MTV Faking It cast members Michael J. Willett as well as Elliot Fletcher, a transgender actor who joined the show this year. Chamique Holdsclaw, a former WNBA player and the subject of Logo’s upcoming documentary Mind/Game, also joined us with her fiancée and Taj Paxton, the executive producer of Logo Documentary Films.
